World Cup Mania has died down, and I’m finding myself in a sports lull. You too?! There’s a void that needs to be filled. I don’t know if it’s that summer is halfway over (how is that happened already?!) or that we’ve had some unseasonably cool weather this past week, but I’m itching for football season to start!
If you need people to commiserate with who share your love for sports – and football - then come on down to the Nodding Donkey Greenville this Thursday, July 24. We’ll be airing Day 1 of Dallas Cowboys Training Camp, live from Oxnard, California. Coverage begins at 9am and continues throughout the day, so join us for lunch, dinner, or happy hour in order to get your football fix.
If you think watching training camp is a little boring, then think again! Training camp is where the action begins! You’ll see all of your favorite players in action and watch as the coaches begin to choose who will be their starters as the 2014 season approaches. Here are just a few position battles to watch:
Wide Receiver: Returning Cowboys Dwayne Harris and Cole Beasley will both likely be in the hunt for a starting wide receiver position. During the 2013 season, Harris was instrumental on special teams and Beasley already gained experience in the role, so both should be solid options to watch.
Cornerback: Can Morris Claiborne reclaim his role as No. 2 cornerback, or will Orlando Scandrick resume that role again this year?
Running Back: Based on what we saw late in the season last year, there will likely be a battle for the No. 2 running back position between Joseph Randle (who held the spot last year) and Lance Dunbar, among others.
