Seasonal Beers to Try Now!

The Nodding Donkey loves when the weather cools down, and all the breweries start rolling out their seasonal brews for all to try. Beers with added spice and citrus underknowns, reminiscent of the autumn chill that’s in the air.

While there are so many great beers out there, here are a few of our favorite seasonal beers to try today!

Shock Top Pumpkin Wheat

Shock Top is a perennial favorite on our draft list, and currently they’ve come out with a seasonal Pumpkin Wheat that just feels like Fall. They’ve taken their traditional Belgian-style wheat ale and made it even better! Brewed with ripe pumpkin, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg, this beer is crisp and flavorful.

Goose Island Autumn Ale

We love Goose Island’s beers, and their Autumn Ale is no exception! A rich, red ale brewed with hops from Goose Island’s own hops farm - Elk Mountain Farms, the Autumn Ale has hints of spice and pine, leaving you wanting more with every sip. The perfect hearty beer to sip on a cool evening.

Lakewood Brewing’s Punkel

Another pumpkin beer?! Nope – you’ve been Punkeled! Lakewood Brewing’s Punkel beer is the perfect compliment to pumpkin pie, with no pumpkin in it whatsoever. Instead, Lakewood brews their autumn favorite with cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and ginger, making it the perfect German lager for sipping.

Samuel Adams Octoberfest

A classic German malt beer that is great with pork chops and lighter fare, Sam Adams Octoberfest is smooth, with deep caramel notes and a toasty sweetness. It’s a go-to for just about any day of the week!

The Nodding Donkey is proud to support craft breweries, and for that reason, our drafts and beer offerings are constantly revolving! Visit us today and ask your server to see if we have any of these seasonal favorites available at the best sports bar in Uptown!
