If you need a quick lunch on-the-go, are dining in with friends and need something light, or want to order takeout (yes –you can order online on our website!), our wraps are the perfect solution.

So is your mouthwatering yet? Order one of these Dallas wraps and you won’t be disappointed!

Baja Chicken Wrap

The classic wrap. Perfect for pretty much anyone, the Baja Chicken Wrap is grilled chicken breast, bell peppers, and onions – coated in melted pepper jack cheese – then rolled up tight in one of our warm tortillas. It’s kind of like a Philly Cheesesteak…but without the steak.

Cuban Donkey Wrap

The Cuban Donkey Wrap is one of our newer wraps and is quickly becoming a customer favorite! We combine our homemade pulled pork, black beans, crispy pickles, pico, and lettuce – layer it with some melted swiss – then drizzle on our secret house mustard. Wrap it in a jalapeno cheddar tortilla and it’s go time.

Each of our wraps comes with your choice of waffle fries, classic French fries, or a house side salad. Or if you’d like, substitute for fresh fruit or potato salad. Don’t forget to finish the meal off with the best craft beer in Dallas or one of our summer cocktails. Wraps are great for lunch, but are available for dinner, happy hour, and late night too.

Can’t get here and want FREE DELIVERY?! Order through our website here and your food will be there in a flash.

Fun Fact Friday: 5 Oldest Breweries in the United States

As much as we love all of the amazing craft breweries that keep cropping up around the great state of Texas, we also thought it important to remember the ones who laid the groundwork for great modern beers. The companies that pioneered beer making in the United States. The ones with the grit and gumption to survive the Prohibition, Great Depression, and more. Here’s to America and the 5 oldest breweries in all the land:

5. Anheuser-Busch

Founded in St. Louis, Missouri in 1852, Anheuser-Busch has put fortitude and innovation into being the King of Beers. We can thank them for delicious Budweiser beer, the invention of refrigerated railcars, and figuring out how to increase a beer’s shelf life through pasteurization.

4. Minhas Craft Brewery

Wisconsinites know a thing or two about perseverance, pressing on through chilly Northern winters every year. Apply that same level of perseverance to the beer industry, and you’ve got a brewery that’s now been in existence for 171 years! Founded in 1845, Minhas Craft Brewery has been in the same Southern Wisconsin facility since its founding, growing to span 3 city blocks today.

3. Pabst Brewing Company

Another Wisconsin brewery, Pabst has been in existence since 1844. Over the years, Pabst has gone by many different names. First, it was Empire Brewery, then Best & Sons. When the sons left to start Miller Brewing Company and Phillip Best passed away and left the brewery to his daughter’s husband Frederick Pabst, the brewery became Pabst Brewing Company.

2. F & M Schaefer Brewing Company

Founded in 1842, Schaefer Brewing Company is still in operation, but owned by Pabst. Schaefer’s most notable contribution to the beer world is that it’s the home of the oldest American lager.

1. Yuengling

American’s oldest brewery, D.G. Yuengling & Son was founded in 1829 by a German immigrant in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Still operating out of the same building they’ve been in since 1831, Yuengling is the 4th largest beer distributor in the United States. It’s hard to get a hold of this beer in Texas, as they only distribute to 14 states, but taking a sip of their traditional lager is like taking a sip of history.

The Nodding Donkey may not have all of these old school brews in house, but you can bet we’re stocked with plenty of domestics, imports, and craft beers to drink to your heart’s content. See you this week at The Nodding Donkey for Dallas drink specials!

5 Texas Craft Beers to Try Now! - The Nodding Donkey

Everything is bigger – and better! – in Texas.

Craft beer is no exception. The Nodding Donkey loves beer and loves supporting our local artisans by carrying Texas craft beer both on tap and in bottles in our Dallas restaurant and bar. We’ve tried them all and here are 5 of our favorite Texas craft beers you need to try now:

·      Revolver Blood & Honey: It’s absolutely one of our favorites and frequently on draft at The Nodding Donkey. Using local Fall Creek Farms honey, spices, and a hint of blood orange, our friends at Revolver Brewing Company have created an American Wheat Ale that is hard to beat. But don’t take our word for it. It’s good served with just about anything or just by itself.

·      Lakewood Lager: As classic as East Dallas itself, Lakewood Brewing Company’s Lakewood Lager has a distinctively old world feel about it. You will enjoy sipping this Vienna style lager, created with a perfect balance of malty sweetness and bitter hops.

·      Community Mosaic IPA: If you know anything about Dallas craft beer, chances are you’ve tried – and loved – this award-winning brew from Community Beer Company. A precise balance of hops, malts, and alcohol, the Mosaic IPA is smooth and robust. Fruity undertones and a golden color create perfect balance.

·      Nine Band Cactus Cat Kolsch: A great summer beer, this classic Kolsch style beer from Nine Band Brewing impresses. A light beer with mild undertones and a golden wheat appearance, it’s easy to drink with just about anything and perfect for an evening on the patio with friends.

·      Texas Ale Project Fire Ant Funeral: Not sure what we like better, the beer or the name. Nonetheless, Fire Ant Funeral hits a sweet spot with the perfect blend of 7 different malts and American grown hops, creating an exceptional Amber ale from Texas Ale Project.

Join us this week at The Nodding Donkey in Dallas, Texas, for these and other amazing Texas craft beers!
