In Texas, we’ve come to love both. We love old haunts, placing with history and a feel of the south. Places that just feel like home, where nothing is pretentious. Casual. Everyone is “good people.”
But then we’re Dallasites after all, and we love things that are fresh, modern. And that doesn’t just mean the atmosphere, but we want the freshest food around. Food that is sourced from local ingredients, chock full of flavor and authenticity you can taste. Food that’s prepared in fresh ways. Old favorites made new.
Well you’re in luck, because The Nodding Donkey is the fusion of both of these concepts. We’re scratch kitchen meets Texas saloon. The perfect place to bring some friends, grab a beer, and just relax.
If you haven’t been in to The Nodding Donkey recently, then you may not be aware of all the fun that is to be had:
· Games Galore. With 20 big screen TVs throughout the property, there is sure to be a sport and a game worth seeing! But if watching sports isn’t really your thing, then maybe playing a game or two is! Adult sized Jenga, parlor games, and the ever popular Cornhole on our huge wraparound porch are the perennial favorites around here. Hint: These games become even more fun with a drink in hand!
· The Modern Saloon: D Magazine readers have voted us the Best Sports Bar in Dallas, and we think our open air saloon concept has a lot to do with that! Everything is opened up and you can easily mingle in and out of the main bar area or grab a spot on the patio. The patio is cooled and we’ve got the best porch in Uptown.
· Not Your Average Bar Food: Executive Chef Rhett Dukes knows a thing or two about great food and his talent spills out all over the menu at The Nodding Donkey. Crowd favorites continue to be our brisket tacos, Silver Bowl salad, and the best brunch in Uptown, but you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.
Come on in this week to The Nodding Donkey Uptown and find your new favorite bar in Dallas!
