Burgers are the quintessential food of summer. Sure, hot dogs are a close second, but burgers are numero uno.

And while anyone can whip up a burger, not everyone can make a great burger.

So what makes a great burger? The Nodding Donkey – your favorite sports bar in Uptown Dallas – is here with our thoughts:

 

The Patty

It all starts with the meat. Start with subpar meat, and you’ve got a subpar burger. Lucky for you, The Nodding Donkey uses only the highest quality 100% beef patty. We cook it to medium-well, as we’ve found this optimizes the flavor of the beef and really lets the burger shine. Want it cooked differently? No problem. All burgers are made to order, so we can easily make your burger how you like it!

 

The Fixins

The Nodding Donkey has 3 signature burgers on our menu, each with fixins that make our mouth water.

The first: the Saloon Burger, topped with smoked onions, pepper jack, and chipotle mayo.

The second: the Bacon Blue Cheese Burger, which is just as it sounds with crispy onions, blue cheese crumbles, and smoky bacon.

And the last: the Mushroom Onion & Swiss, complete with caramelized onions, Swiss cheese, and sautéed mushrooms.

Of course, you can always add lettuce, tomato, mustard, etc. – you tell us what you like!

 

The Bun

The bun is just as important as the patty, and The Donkey does it right. All this goodness is sandwiched in soft, fresh baked brioche buns. Need a gluten free bun? Just ask your server; the Nodding Donkey a gluten-free friendly restaurant!

 

The Sides

Yeah, these play second fiddle to the burger, but it’s worth noting that we serve pretty delicious homemade, fresh cut fries, potato salad, or a salad on the side. Your choice of side (but we’ve got a weak spot for the homemade fries!)
